HOME BUSINESS CODE REVISIONS The Lake Oswego Planning Department is currently reviewing the codes concerning the operation of home-based businesses. If you operate a home-based business or live near someone who does, you may contact the planning department for more information.

SOUTH SHORE FIRE STATION REPLACEMENT As of October, an architect was hired to develop plans. These can then be put out for bid to determine a more accurate cost to place on the bond ballot measure.

EMERGENCY WATER DISTRIBUTION PROTOCOLS The Lake Oswego Public Works department has released information about the distribution of water after an earthquake . The new water treatment plant in West LInn was built to withstand a major earthquake and many though not all the lines in Lake Oswego are ductile and should survive a quake. Still the system would have to be tested after a quake. You need to have enough water for your family and pets to see you through at least a week. In case the system is not up in your neighborhood at that time, you should have empty containers that could be filled by the city from fire hydrants. Water is heavy. Make sure the containers are ones you can tote.

DAVIGNON HALL TO PARKING LOT The demolition has begun on this 1961 dormitory. Part of the concrete structure will be crushed and used as bedding for the much needed parking lot. Replacement trees for the ones that were destroyed have already been planted along Furman Drive.

CLACKCO KIDS The county Headstart preschool program has begun its operation on the south side of the Marylhurst campus.
